How To Build Backlinks To Your Blog ?

Jun 27, 2009 · 1 comments

While no one knows exactly what the formula for search engine rankings is, we do know that it has a lot to do with how many "votes" you have out there on the web. These votes are counted as backlinks. If you think about it, what do you when you find something you really like and want to share with others? You link to it! That's why the search engines count these so highly. While you should definitely aim to get to the point where others will link to you, it's possible to take things into your own hands for now.

Below are some of the top strategies you can use for building backlinks to increase the value of your blog in the eyes of the search engine.

Write Articles and Submit Them: Writing and submitting articles is a great way to build backlinks! There are sites out there like Articlesbase.com and GoArticles.com that allow you to post your content with a link back to your site. That means you get to have your link on authority sites! The more articles you write, the more you can submit them. The beauty of this is that you can often submit the same articles to different sites, or rewrite them quickly to have something that is more unique.

Write Guest Posts: Writing guest posts for other niche blogs is an amazing strategy. People love to let you do this because it gives them a day off from blogging. Readers love it because they get a fresh perspective on a topic they are interested in. You'll love it because it means you get a link back to your site and all you had to do was write an extra post for the day.

Comment on Other People's Blogs: It's a great thing to remember that a huge part of blogging is getting involved in the community. Commenting on other people's blogs will not only get you some recognition from their readers right away, it also counts as a backlink! Keep in might that some of these links are termed as "nofollow", which means the search engines may not pass along ranking or "juice." That's okay, because the algorithms are always changing, and since these links are so highly targeted they are a great thing.

Use Social Bookmarking Sites: Another thing you can do is bookmark your sites. Now, there are some rumblings out there that these won't count as highly in the future as they do now. Still, bookmarking your sites lets the search engines know "you are there" for fast indexing. If you take the time to make sure the sites you bookmark with are high quality, you'll get the benefit of those links as well.

Paying for Links:There are many different ways you can pay for links. It is important to know that Google and other search engines frown on this because it's like you're gaming their algorithm. Whether you choose to do this or not is up to you, but it can be an effective strategy if you don't go overboard and aren't obvious. You can contact people directly or even work through link exchange networks.

Learning how to build backlinks to your blog is extremely important if you want to rank well. Add a few links at a time and they will build up in a massive way over the long run.

How to write an article in 15 Minutes

Jun 23, 2009 · 0 comments

How long does it take for you write an article ? Believe it or not a professional can write a great article in about 5 to 10 minutes . Some others can take it around 30 minutes or even more , but the fact is that you can write an article in just 15 minutes if you back yourself which i do every time successfully .

Taking up blogging got me to start thinking seriously about writing and writing quickly . Here are my 6 tips for writing an article in 15 minutes or less .

1. Never try to start writing an article without having proper idea about that topic . Start with a list of ideas and concepts that you want to cover . Usually list them in point form ( you can always use pen and paper for good result ).

2. As it is said "Never Save a Good Idea-Use It" . Knowing that there are plenty of articles to be written in the future you might just save a good idea for later , but that's not going to help you . It is better to put any good idea or good thought right away rather than saving it.

( I'm saying this because new ideas will always come but time doesn't ! )

3. Sometimes you may get different ideas at same time- don't hesitate to write two articles simultaneously. Always try to use simple words ... don't try to search for complex words as most of the readers like it simple because it is easy to understand .

4. Set your deadline - Say I will do it by X ' O clock . It may look awkward but works well in motivating you.

5. One trick is using number points or bullet points as in this article . People seem to like this technique and it also helps to get your flow.

6. If you are in full flow , then don't stop after writing a single article - continue writing the next possible article as it can be done in much lesser time .

So if  you can write so quickly, why don't you write a couple every day . Although it is easy to write for me, the tough part is in getting ideas ...

Anyone Ideas ? Please...

The Ultimate Blogger Writing Guide

Every new Blogger probably face the biggest problem with the content for his blog . I have seen plenty of bloggers shutting their blogs just because they were unable to produce quality content . Actually this is not going to be a big problem if you follow some of the basic writing techniques .

There are thousands of writing guides with very good strategies , but if you have a glance at them the basic techniques are same throughout . I shortlisted some strategies which every new blogger might think useful.

Here are those...

1. Put the reader first. The purpose of writing is clear, sometimes persuasive, communication. It is not about you or your clever ideas. If you write to impress, you will distract the reader from the content. Good writing is like a store window. It should be clean and clear, providing an unobstructed view of the contents within.

2. Write in a conversational style. There is a road sign often posted near construction sites that always irritates me. It reads, “Maintain present lane.” Why so formal? A more conversational style would be better: “Stay in your lane” or “Do not change lanes.” If you write as if you’re wearing a top hat and spats, you distance yourself from the reader and muddle the message.

3. Use simple words. Since your purpose is to communicate and not impress, simple words work better than big ones. Write “get” instead of “procure.” Write “use” rather than “utilize.” Use the longer words only if your meaning is so precise there is no simpler word to use.

4. Use short sentences. You should keep sentences short for the same reason you keep paragraphs short: they’re easier to read and understand. Each sentence should have one simple thought. More than that creates complexity and invites confusion.

5. Be specific. Don’t write “Many Bloggers Prefer Style A.” Write “97% of Bloggers Prefer Style A.” Don’t write “The New Gadget is released in many Cities.” Write “The New Gadget is released in Mumbai, Texas, Hyderabad , Sydney etc.” Get to the point. Say what you mean. Use specific nouns.

6. Be clear. This may be the most important rule of all. Without clarity, your writing fails on every level. You achieve clarity when you accurately communicate the meaning in your head to the head of your reader. That’s difficult. Look at your writing with an objective eye. Consider what might be misunderstood and rewrite it. Find what is irrelevant and delete it. Notice what is missing and insert it.

Remember that if your blog fails , it's probably because you don't have good writings . Never get disheartened  if you fail initially . Follow these suggestions here and never look back .

What Are Trackbacks and Why Do They Exist?

Trackbacks were created by blog software programmers to help bloggers easily link to each other and get credit for doing so with automation. Rather than writing about someone else’s blog post on your site and then writing to them to let them know you just linked to their post and asking for the possibility of them linking back to you, trackbacks automate the process.

Trackbacks are sort of like “remote comments” in that, the blog you are linking to gets notified automatically that you’ve linked to a particular post and the blogger gets the same email they would had you commented directly on their blog that a comment is awaiting moderation.

They check it out and see that you’ve done a trackback.

They come to your post through the link and see that you’ve been flattering them by linking directly to their latest post in your post and explaining why you liked their post.
They go back to their moderation area and approve your trackback and it shows up in the comments area with all the other comments on that particular post you linked to.
Other readers get into the discussion on that blog, see your trackback and click the link to see what you had to say about this post. Not all, but some will do this.
